Haein, at 20 months, has taught me more about being alive and present in the moment than 18 years of photography have. Watching her experience everyday things that we take as obvious and mundane with pure awe and wonder has renewed my own outlook on the world we live in. Observing and occasionally documenting her experiences is something I do with the greatest joy, and I’m just grateful to be here, now, along for the ride.
Haein is an independent little one with a big heart. She enjoys waving to people on the street and spotting buses on the road. She loves blueberries, gimbap, peas, and pasta with lots of freshly grated parmesan. But above all, she loves her umma (mom), Jiyun.
Jookyung, Jiyun, and Haein live with Archer and San in Seoul.
