The best way to wash your wool is by hand and not very often — like maybe only once a year, if ever (taking into account spot cleaning when necessary).
But when or if the time comes and you need to wash your garment, we suggest hand-washing wool pieces in cold water with a gentle, natural soap. Here’s more on the proper wool washing technique.
We do not advise dry cleaning as the chemicals can damage and weaken wool.
To store, we recommend folding garments and putting them in a clean, closed container, such as a cedar chest or any plastic container that is air-tight (to avoid pesky moths). Putting lavender drops on cotton balls can also help keep unwelcome guests away.
We advise that you do not hang your wool (and some cotton) garments as it can stretch and misshapen the fabric.
Premium yarns like wool are often spun quite differently to their lower cost or synthetic alternatives. Pilling is not a sign of poor quality wool — in fact the opposite. Pilling is a natural and inevitable occurrence among products that are made using wool fibers. To minimize pilling, follow care instructions and determine whether or not your garment needs to be washed at all.

Due to the unique dye process that we use on some of our pima cotton, it is strongly recommended that you do not expose to direct sunlight for long periods of time, as fading may occur. Our cotton is machine washable, but hand washing will always extend the life of your garments.

100% Merino Wool
Hand wash with cool water and a mild soap. Lay flat to dry.
After the first washing, the yarn will soften and bloom. Wool is easy to care for and does not need to be washed very often. It is naturally antibacterial and often times just hanging your garment outside for a few hours is enough to refresh and renew. However, our garments may also be washed in the machine on delicate with a wool detergent. Wool is naturally elastic and will not lose its shape, ensuring your garment will have a long and happy life. Do not put your wool garments in the dryer.
